Nihad Aliyev
I am a quantitative finance researcher with experience across academia and industry. My work is at the intersection of market microstructure, decision-making under uncertainty, and FinTech.
My research has been published in leading finance and economics journals, including the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Journal of Corporate Finance, and the Journal of Mathematical Economics. Selected papers are available in the "Research Papers" section, and a visual overview of my PhD thesis at the University of Technology Sydney is provided below.
Alongside academic research, I have worked as a quantitative consultant in FinTech, digital finance, and blockchain-based systems. My industry experience includes incentive and mechanism design, valuation and risk modelling for emerging financial technologies, and developing analytical frameworks that support decision-making in modern financial markets.
More recently, I have been building products. I developed Salam Tut, a gamified financial-literacy app that helps families teach positive money habits to their children (available on iOS and Android). I am also developing several new products, which I look forward to sharing when they are ready.
